At OPM, Patrick spearheaded the implementation of executive orders aimed at draining the DC swamp and combating anti-American wokeism. In the wake of the November 2020 election, Patrick served as a member of President Trump’s official legal team. Patrick’s voter data analysis uncovered tens of thousands of illegally cast votes and revealed dozens of violations of the Georgia Election Code by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and county officials. Prior to federal service, Patrick graduated from Harvard Law School with honors and led a successful business career at the management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company. In Today's "Moment of Truth," Saurabh and Emma sit down with Mary Eberstadt, conservative essayist, former policy planning staff under the Reagan Administration and author of "Primal Screams: How the Sexual Revolution Created Identity Politics," to discuss the devolution of family, marriage, and gender since the invention of "the pill" and what, if anything, can be done to reverse the disastrous effects of the sexual revolution on the American family. Mary Eberstadt is an influential American writer whose contributions to the intellectual landscape traverse several genres. An author of both non-fiction and fiction, her social commentary draws from various fields including anthropology, intellectual history, philosophy, popular culture, sociology, and theology. She is known for her public service and is a sought after public speaker. Central to her diverse interests are questions concerning the philosophy and culture of Western civilization and the fate and aspirations of post-modern man. Mary Eberstadt is the author of several influential books, among them Primal Screams: How the Sexual Revolution Created Identity Politics, How the West Really Lost God: A New Theory of Secularization; It’s Dangerous to Believe: Religious Freedom and Its Enemies; and Adam and Eve after the Pill: Paradoxes of the Sexual Revolution. Mrs. Eberstadt’s contributions to journalism range from short essays and reviews in mainstream venues like the Wall Street Journal and TIME to longer pieces in journals of ideas such as First Things and National Affairs. She has served on the editorial staffs of three magazines for which she has also written, The Public Interest, The National Interest, and Policy Review. Her 2010 epistolary novel The Loser Letters, about a young woman in rehab torn between theism and atheism, was adapted for stage and premiered at the Catholic University of America’s Hartke Theater in fall 2016. Other adaptations of the story are underway for future productions in the U.S. and Malta. She and her husband, author Nicholas Eberstadt, have four children, and live in the Washington, D.C. area. Douglas Wilson served in the submarine service of the U.S. Navy, then earned two B.A. degrees, one in Philosophy and one in Classical Studies, plus an M.A. in Philosophy; all three of his degrees were granted by the University of Idaho. He has been an Instructor at both the University of Idaho and Lewis & Clark State College, and is currently a Senior Fellow at New Saint Andrews College, where he has taught since its inception without compensation. At NSA he has taught Greek, Latin, Theology, Rhetoric, and various electives, and he currently serves as Director of the MA program. He has also taught many classes at Logos School, a classical Christian school in Moscow, Idaho, which he helped found. He has served Christ Church, Moscow, as a pastor since 1977, and under his leadership it has founded New Saint Andrews College, Canon Press publishing house, the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches, and many mission churches around the US and internationally. He has authored almost eighty books for a dozen different publishing houses on a variety of educational and devotional topics, such as Recovering the Lost Tools of Learning, published by Crossway Books in 1991, a book which contributed to the creation of the Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS). He has also co-authored, contributed to, or edited another two dozen works, including several textbooks. He has been featured in two documentaries, and writes prolifically online at diverse sites which range from The Gospel Coalition to The Huffington Post. His articles, columns, and book reviews have appeared in numerous print publications, and his novel Evangellyfish received Christianity Today’s 2012 Best Fiction award.
